rugs???!!!? i have my own horses but i only have 3 rugs for each of them : turnout, cooler and stable. iv ecently been looking for new coolers on a website but i saw lots of different ones like travel rugs, fly sheets florecent exersize sheets etc. should i be buying all these or are they just different names for the ones i have allready?

What kind of rugs should we buy to not hamper the passage of radiant heat? We're about to move into a small one-storey house with painted concrete floors that are heated with hot-water radiant heat. We want to buy a number of area rugs but wonder what type of rug will not hamper the transmission of heat from the floor. Thanks.

Do you know how to make weaved rugs out of plastic bread bags? When I was a child, my neighbor got all moms bread bags because she made weaved plastic rugs to go on the floor. If the bread bags were sunbeam, the rugs were yellow, if they were butternut, the rugs were a blue color. She weaved them by hand. She was very poor, lived in an old house with a big front porch and everyone sat on the portch. I loved to go to her house and sit in the swing. I think its an art that was lost because no one believes in making bread bag rugs anymore. Anyone ever see this done or know how to do it?

Handtufted 100% wool rugs. Do they all have a smell? Is it normal to find twigs or seeds woven into the wool? I have purchased wool rugs which I really like but they have an odour and we have stepped on prickly objects that, when searched for, turn out to be similar to twigs (approx. an inch or more in length) or seeds woven into the wool. The rugs come from a very reputable rug importer that operates in the United States as well as Canada so I'm somewhat surprised at what appears to be poor quality and am considering returning them. Will I find this with all 100% wool handmade rugs? Does cleaning them make any difference?

How to keep area rugs from slipping on wood floors? I installed wood floors for the dogs. It makes for easy clean up of accidents. However I did not think ahead to the dogs comfort of play. They slid on wood DUH! So I put down multiple area rugs. I have no slip pads double taped to the underside but they roll up, peel off and slide if the dogs don't specificly hit the area that the pad is under. I've looked online for something that will guarantee the rugs to stay in place and maybe cut down on noise but they are crazy expensive. My husband wanted to double side tape them directly to the floor but that will ruin the floor. Because we have to be able to regularly remove the rugs to clean underneath them as well as the rugs themselves because if it's not an accident they are tracking mud in. Please help.

How would you wash rugs if you don't have a carpet cleaner? Anyone know the name of a substance to paint on the back of rugs to keep them from slipping? Why does my cat always barf on my rugs instead of linoleum or the hardwood floor? My cat has a bad hairball problem, and whenever the seasons change she'll have barfing episodes almost every day for weeks. Okay here's the part that really boggles my mind: Our house is all hardwood floor, with linoleum in the kitchen and the bathrooms. We have a few throw rugs here and there. Now, out of all the places to puke, she ALWAYS chooses to puke on one of the various throw rugs in the house. One time I saw her retching and I picked her up and put her on the linoleum and she ran back to the throw rug and hurled, refusing to barf on bare floor. I really wish she would barf on the hardwood or the linoleum because then I could just quickly wipe it up instead of having to pre-treat and wash the rugs all the time.
