What is the best way to launder kitchen rugs? They have the rubber backing and it seems like all the rugs I've owned this backing crumbles after a few launderings.

Kitchen rugs sticking to ceramic tile; need to clean rubber stuff off the ceramic tiles, help!? The slip resistant backing on our kitchen rugs have stuck themselves to the ceramic tiles. My cat keeps going for a poo on my kitchen rug! What can I do? Every morning I wake up to a cat poo on my kitchen rug. Every day in the same place without fail. At first it seemed to happen when his litter box needed changing but now its all the time, even when its been changed a matter of hours before. SERIOUS suggestions for what to do with a cat that has begun peeing on rugs? My cat has begun peeing on the kitchen and bathroom rugs. I know that even after washing them that they still contain a trace of the smell and that the cat will continue peeing on them probably now. They are the type of rugs that have the rubber backing. Does anyone know if I get new rugs that don't have the rubber backing if the cat will urinate on them also? I know cats tend to like the rugs with the rubber backing. my dog is free to roam around the kitchen day and night on the linoleum flooring. Sometimes we let her out? of the kitchen into the familyroom that is carpeted. Why does my cat always barf on my rugs instead of linoleum or the hardwood floor? My cat has a bad hairball problem, and whenever the seasons change she'll have barfing episodes almost every day for weeks. Okay here's the part that really boggles my mind: Our house is all hardwood floor, with linoleum in the kitchen and the bathrooms. We have a few throw rugs here and there. Now, out of all the places to puke, she ALWAYS chooses to puke on one of the various throw rugs in the house. One time I saw her retching and I picked her up and put her on the linoleum and she ran back to the throw rug and hurled, refusing to barf on bare floor. I really wish she would barf on the hardwood or the linoleum because then I could just quickly wipe it up instead of having to pre-treat and wash the rugs all the time. Does anyone know why cats prefer puking on carpet vs. bare floor surfaces?

Replacing my rugs for Laminate throughout entire house Including Kitchen? Would it be weird to have Natural cherry Laminate in my kitchen and Laundry room? My house is an open floor plan. Meaning that the living room runs into the kitchen ., I spoke to a flooring man yesterday and he said that i could run the flooring straight to the garage door which is through the Kit &LR. I wanted Tile in the Bath's and Kit. But it is very pricey and the up keep is lengthy. The reason why I ask is because my House is currently on the market. (no one is looking) This is a FL home. I have a handcrafted "oil" mat /rug in my kitchen-- how do you refinish it ? It's design is for a kitchen, about 3 x 5 feet. help choosing color(s) for a great room / kitchen combo? I just moved into a home that has a large 25 by 25 great room that opens up into the kitchen. the rug in the room is a light tan. the wall s now are cream and the large fire place has brick that are a taracotta color shade( NOT brick red) the kitchen has the same taracotta color shaded brick cooking arch and the cabinets are also a taracotta color I would like to find 2 color that work well together since the rooms are open to each other, and I think using the same color will be a bit to much. maybe an accent wall in the great room and a bit lighter shade on the other walls, but have no inspiration. Solutions to cover up frayed carpet hanging over onto my linoleum kitchen floor? I'm in a basement and the carpet molding hasn't worked good to keep the rug from fraying. The carpet separates my kitchen and it looks terrible with the frays sticking out on my tiled linoleum floor. Does home depot sell anything good I can use to fix this situation? anyone use Lowe's/Home Depot for kitchen installation? hubby and i will be inheriting a house from grandma and, well, it's stuck in 1953. everything is original to the house, including the appliances, rugs, etc. since we will be lucky enough to not worry about rehab costs on top of a mortgage, we will be able to spend a decent amount of money on the house. however, it will also require dormers being added to the attic, and all that fun stuff. i figure we will spend about 20k-25K on a kitchen, not including demo. is that a reasonable price to get a kitchen at lowes/home depot? we want wood cabinets, stone tile floors and natural stone counters. the kitchen is a moderate size, and a dining room table will have to fit, so we won't be doing an island. just your typical L-shape. have you bought from lowes/home depot and had them install? how did you feel about the materials and the service? is this a reasonable budget? it would also include appliances of a low to mid-range price. is that too much money budgeted? thanks!

Puppy suddenly pooping on kitchen rugs rather than wee wee pad? We have a new puppy for a week now. He's a 16 wk old Lhasa. We gated off the kitchen and put down a wee wee pad and he's been great at using it. He does lay on it sometimes which I hate because it's not a sleeping pad. Suddenly he has pooped two times in a row on 2 different kitchen carpets rather than on the wee wee pad. Also last night he walked into his crate (which we really haven't used much) and pooped. Are these normal puppy accidents or a problem? I will start crating more after his diarrhea stops.... Vet has him on 3 medications for that. Fecal results will be on Monday. Also, we have the gated kitchen with wee wee pads for when we'll be out for more than 3 hours because puppies that age can't hold it that long. Anyway, any ideas why he would start doing that? Also, he suddenly started missing the wee wee pad somewhat, getting in on the floor and stepping in it... he used to get right in the middle and they are fairly large wee wee pads. Thanks

my new Dyson DC17 Animal died after I ran over my kitchen rug....? I was vacuuming my kitchen and accidentally ran over a thin kitchen carpet. The carpet got sucked into the vacuum, so I turned off the vacuum and pulled it out. Now my vacuum won't work! It will turn on, but the carpet-sucking part at the bottom where the tube spins won't spin at all. Is this something I can fix myself??

Decorating ideas for french country style kitchen.? Help! My living room & kitchen are side by side. Living room is painted 'gambol gold' (a dark golden yellow) & I have a large red couch & rug w/ Waverly red & gold toile fabric accents and curtains. Why is 2 year old cat urinating on carpet? Here is the situation. I have both brother and sister. Both are really great cats. Never had any issues with them not using the cat box from day one when I brought them home. Even with a move they still used the cat box. I recently had a baby who is now almost 8 months. I also rescued two female kittens. One of the kittens didn't know how to use the cat box and had a couple of accidents but we broke that habbit quickly. Didn't have another problem from them. But now all of a sudden I noticed my 2 year old female cat is now peeing on the carpet. I just don't know what to do. I've tried every thing. I've used vinegar. I've used Urine OUt! and I've even used alcohol. But she keeps going in random spots. I've seen her use the cat box. Her diet is the same. Water in take is the same. It;s driving me crazy. I'm about to steam clean.. but I know what happens when you do that.. it usually makes it worse. Does anyone know why she would do this? She has also peeed on my kitchen rugs too!
