fiberglass surfboards and kayaks?

Hi I'm building stuff out of fiberglass, Robin and mat used for yachts and fishing boats. I presume it's the stuff as used in surfboards, so I'm asking about it here: what kind of lung protection should one use? The guys in the shop use normal dust masks - I've been using a filtering mask used normally for spray painting. Any comments? Any advice? Thanks

1. Use a respirator with a charcoal filter, probably the same as the spray painting one you have. Dust masks are only good for... dust, not chemicals. Check out the following site for info on fiberglass, including some info on material safety: http://sweetcomposites.com/
