WHERE CAN I BUY MARTIAL ARTS MATS? HELP?

Im looking to buy some, and i have no clue... im trying to avoid the internet b/c it's such a hassle ordering and im wondering where i can buy it at a store? i live in Alpharetta/Johns Creek, Georgia area... and im confused by the sizes like 5 x 10 is 5 the length? and 10 the width? or is it vis virsa lol i already think i know the answer but im just making sure... i've been taking martial arts for about 2 yrs and i finally want some mats at my home. im looking for affordable, durable mats and im looking for specific stores that would sell it. im open for any type of help/suggestions... TY

You will be hard pressed to find actual mats for martial arts training in any store because they usually warehouse those and sell them through online suppliers to keep the cost down. Ordering them on the internet is easy and not time consuming. On ebay you can order from Tiffian Mats and they have great prices and selection. Shipping is fast and cheap and I would highly recommend that. Your only other choice is to call around to gymnastic places or high schools and see if they have any used mats to buy but those are often higher than buying online.
Since the mats are rectangles it doesn't matter if the 5 is the length or the width because you can turn it so the 5 is either. Try searching for gymnastics supply stores in your area as well as martial arts supply stores. You could also try visiting a gymnastics school or another martial arts school in your area and learn where they got their mats. You could also look at some do it yourself stores like Lowe's and Home Depo and see if they sell that kind of flooring.
